Suggestion: If you are willing to stay off The Strip you can usually get a GREAT deal. The two best choices for value are the Golden Nugget and The Orleans. Both are 4-star hotels at VERY reasonable rates. The Golden Nugget is right on Freemont St which offers a fantastic light show every night – but I would request a room facing the south side if you plan to sleep before midnight. They also just finished the outside pool with a shark tank built right in. You must consider cab fare if you are not planning to rent a car. Cab fare from the Golden Nugget to The Strip can cost about $20!! The Orleans offers free shuttle service to and from The Strip.

TIP: Want to upgrade to a nicer room – try tipping the front desk clerk $20! Here’s a discussion on it ------ > CLICK HERE

Another tip: After tipping the desk clerk go up to your room and call the front desk. Ask for the manager and explain that this room was not what you expected. (Find something wrong with the room) Explain that you even tipped the front desk clerk for the proper accommodations. Ask if there is anything he can do. You will be quote surprised by what the manager can do. Rarely will you denied an even better room. There are exceptions of course, such as weekend nights, large conventions or special events or maybe the limits of the hotel. But does it hurt you to ask? NO! You will usually be put into a suite for the price of a double!
